I guess there are some things in the world your parents just can't tell you about. Oh they can tell you but it's not until you experience it yourself that it's really of any value.
One example of this is how people are insincere and use others. Since I don't consider myself a "star" I am not always aware that others do. When a guy asks me out I generally think it's because he wants to be with me for what I am and when he says that he likes me I believe him. But I suddenly discovered that some guys were asking me out because I was on TV and it was some kind of status symbol or something to have me as their date. They really didn't care about me as a person.
The more people you meet the more you realize this. It's a drag but the only thing you can really do about it is look past appearances and always work for honesty and sincerity within yourself.
