5.4.1 PostalCare SMTP Server

The PostalCare SMTP Server setting is the IP address of the server that PostalCare is installed on which filters the emails before going to the Real SMTP server.

Type in the IP address of the PostalCare SMTP Server as shown in the example below:


  PostalCare SMTP Server: 66.48.344.60 

5.4.2 Real SMTP Server

The Real SMTP Server setting is the IP address of the real SMTP server that delivers emails to this organization.

Type in the IP address of the Real SMTP Server as shown in the example below:


  Real SMTP Server: 66.48.344.58 

5.4.3 Alternate SMTP Servers

The Alternate SMTP Server setting is where one, two or three servers can be entered in PostalCare as alternate or backup SMTP servers to the Real SMTP Server. The IP address of each server is entered into the fields.

Type in the IP address for each Alternate SMTP Server as shown in the example below:

5.4.4 Modify SMTP Servers

Any of the server IP addresses entered can be modified by directly making the changes in the fields displayed.

Click on the Save & Return to Administrative Settings button to save your changes and return to the main menu.

5.5 Inside IP Address Ranges

The Low IP Address is the lowest number of the IP address range to be configured.

For example:


If the inside IP address range is: 
 
  148.56.120.3 to 148.56.120.30 
 
The Low IP Address is: 
 
  148.56.120.3 

The High IP Address is the highest number of the IP address range that is configured.

For example:


If the inside IP address range is: 
 
  148.56.120.3 to 148.56.120.30 
 
The High IP Address is: 
 
  148.56.120.30 

5.5.1 Add a New Inside IP Address Range

To add a new Inside IP Address Range, click on the Add a New Inside IP Address Range button.

A pop-up window will appear containing the fields where you can type in the low and high IP addresses of the range and save them.

Once both the low and high IP addresses have been typed into the correct fields, click on the Add Inside IP Range button to complete adding the new inside IP address range.

5.5.2 Modify or Delete an Inside IP Address Range

The Action column contains the different options that can be used for each entry in the table.

The action options are:

Click on the Save & Return to Administrative Settings button to save your changes and return to the main menu.

5.6 Internal Domains

Internal Domains are the names of the domains that belong to this organization which will be receiving email. PostalCare uses the internal domain names for security and anti-spam purposes.

For example, the following might be 3 internal domain names for an organization:

  aplus.ttinet.com 
  name-keeper.com  

5.6.1 Add a New Internal Domain

To add a new internal domain, click on the Add New Domain button.

A pop-up window will open containing the input field where you can type in the name of the internal domain name, then save it to PostalCare.

For example:


  Internal Domain: ttinet.com 

Then click on the Add Domain button. The list of internal domains will refresh, and the new one will be added to the list.

5.6.2 Modify or Delete an Internal Domain

The Action column contains the different options that can be used for each entry in the table.

The action options are:

Click on the Save & Return to Administrative Settings button to save your changes and return to the main menu.

5.7 Domain Translations

is where email domains, such as xyz.ttinet.com, abc.ttinet.com---however the emails are all destined to the real smtp server which is ttinet.com. A Domain Translation is where your email can be accessed through multiple email domains such as:

xyz.ttinet.com
abc.ttinet.com

However, all the emails using those domains are destined to go through the real SMTP server. For example:

ttinet.com

So the two domain translations to configure into PostalCare in this example would be:

  Domain Name: ttinet.com 
  Domain Translation: xyz.ttinet.com 
  
  Domain Name: ttinet.com 
  Domain Translation: abc.ttinet.com 

xyz.ttinet.com and abc.ttinet.com will be translated to ttinet.com when PostalCare processes emails.

5.7.1 Add a New Domain Translation

To add a new internal domain, click on the Add New Domain Translation button.

A pop-up window will open containing the input fields where you can type in the name of the domain translation, and the internal domain name it should be translated to when PostalCare processes emails.

When the domain name and domain translation have been entered in, click on the Add Domain Translation button. The Domain Translations window will refresh, and the new entry will be added to the list.

Once you have added in all the Domain Translations, click on the Save & Complete Setup button. The Setup Wizard is complete and the General window will be displayed.

5.7.2 Modify or Delete a Domain Translation

The Action column contains the different options that can be used for each entry in the table.

The action options are:

Click on the Save & Return to Administrative Settings button to save your changes and return to the main menu.

5.8 Setup Wizard

The Setup Wizard option is another way of navigating through all of the Administrative Settings by going through each window sequentially instead of coming back to the Administrative Settings Main Menu window to choose another setting option to maintain. This is the same setup wizard that was used when initially configuring PostalCare for the first time.
