This makes it simple to configure large numbers of email recipients or list entries into PostalCare. For example, a large organization may have thousands of valid email recipients to configure.
Files can be uploaded in any of the following formats:
Once you have selected the file to upload, select the Upload File Type in the next field.
The Upload File Type field is where you can select the type of file you are going to upload.
File Type | Description |
---|---|
Comma Delimited (.CSV): | A file containing the data in a comma-separated format. |
Tab Delimited (.TXT or other file type): | A text file containing the data in a tab-separated format. |
PostalCare Upload Format (.PCUPLOAD): | A specially formatted file for uploading data to PostalCare. Further description is pending. |
Once you have selected the file type to upload, proceed to select what kind of data the file contains. The File Contains field is where you select the type of data that you are uploading to PostalCare. You can upload the following data to any Division and/or Group within PostalCare:
Data Type | Description |
---|---|
Recipients | Email address and profile information for each valid email recipient allowed to send and receive email through PostalCare. Email recipients do not have access to the PostalCare web interface. |
PostalCare Users | Email address and profile information for valid email recipients allowed to send and receive email through PostalCare, and who also have basic access privileges to the PostalCare web interface. |
Honeypots | Email addresses entered in to detect spam emails. A "fake" user (email address) can be created who should not receive any emails. If emails are sent to this fake user, the emails are detected by PostalCare, then labeled as spam. |
Whitelist Entries | Email addresses entered in to be uploaded to the Whitelist, always allowed to send email through PostalCare. |
Blacklist Entries | Email addresses entered in to be uploaded to the Blacklist, not allowed to send email through PostalCare. |
Once you have selected what type of data the file contains, proceed to select the Division and Group to upload the file to.
Select Division contains the list of division names configured into PostalCare. Select the division name to upload the file to.
If the file is to be uploaded to a group within the division, select the name of the group from the Select Group drop-down list.
The Record Count field contains the option to enter the number of records contained in the file you are uploading. PostalCare uses this count to verify that all records were processed during the upload. For example, if you specify that there are 25 records contained in the file you uploaded, but when PostalCare processes it there is a different number of records, a warning will be displayed.
The Record Count field is optional. It is used as a cross-check to ensure the data was uploaded correctly.
The Change Level feature is also used for administrators to access their personal account to maintain their individual Whitelist and Blacklist.
Your current login email address, level, division and group name are displayed in the top right corner of every PostalCare window. If you change your login level or user, the display in the top right corner of each window will change to reflect the new login information. |

Then click on the Change to User button. The main PostalCare window will refresh and you will be logged in as that user with their PostalCare access permissions.
