Maureen as the Child Actress and Singing Star

Because of her unique voice Maureen was already performing commercial jingles by the age of six.

For instance,
it's her you see and hear
singing in many of the original
Pillsbury Doughboy commercials.

And that was Maureen's voice
coming out of the mouth of
Chatty Cathy , the 20th century's first talking doll!
(Note: The very first talking doll was the brainchild of Mr. Charles Batchelor, a close associate and employee of Thomas A. Edison -- back in the 1880s.)

When Maureen was six, her mother noticed an article in a local newspaper proclaiming a search for a "Baby Miss San Fernando Valley." Maureen entered -- and won. Soon thereafter, a Hollywood agent called the McCormick home and asked if Maureen was interested in entering show business. Maureen said yes, and by the age of seven had won the lead role in Ray Stark's play Wind It Up and It Breaks, which was performed at the La Jolla Playhouse.

Next, Maureen won a continuing role on the "Bewitched " series and worked for famed director Elia Kazan in her feature film debut, The Arrangement.

Maureen then answered "the call," along with hundreds of other child actors, to read for a role in the upcoming Brady Bunch series. Producer Sherwood Schwartz was suitably impressed -- and offer her the role of Marcia, which she accepted. The Brady Bunch ran for five seasons!

Florence Henderson , Maureen's TV mom, was also very impressed with Maureen's abilities!

When asked what her favorite "Brady Bunch" episode was, Maureen said :

"My favorite episode was when I was doing a school play with Florence Henderson, and we got to dress up as hobos and we sang 'Where Ever We Go... '. It was really fun!"

After touring and recording several albums with the original Brady Bunch cast, Maureen started her solo singing career at the age of 16!

Her first solo release, the single Little Bird was off to a promising start by climbing up the charts on the west coast. After performing the song on American Bandstand, the show's host, Dick Clark, encouraged the young star to pursue a full time musical career.

Offers began pouring in, among them an opportunity to record a country album. But, Maureen wasn't ready yet...
